ENDICOTT -- If you're planning a honeymoon, "weddingmoon" or "babymoon," Sandi Sharpe wants to be your point person.

She's the owner of Travelcats Travel, the full-service travel agency she founded in 1999 that specializes in those special events.

What does your business do?

Many of our vacation packages are all inclusive; include all meals, beverages and gratuities, and many offer complimentary upgrades and perks. In addition to the typical products one would expect of an agency, we offer time-share apartments, rental homes, pool homes, cottages, condos and villas, as well as bed and breakfasts worldwide. We have accommodations that suit any budget, from budget, moderate to luxury. We also sell travel-related products, such as books, luggage, pet travel supplies -- pretty much anything travel related we offer.

How many employees do you have?

In addition to myself, five currently. I plan to hire more, hopefully locally, in near future. I have an office in Endicott, and outside agents located from here to Florida.

Who are you targeting as customers?

Anyone who is planning to travel for business or pleasure, wants to book a destination wedding, plans to take an anniversary or honeymoon cruise or trip, couples celebrating a babymoon, family reunions, group travelers -- either their own group or they can join existing groups traveling -- people seeking spa resorts for health, wellness, and beauty and relaxation. Basically everyone who needs or wants a vacation.

What about your work in the community?

We support charitable causes. We offer gift certificates, that are good toward discounts on purchases that can be used at fundraisers. We match each of those vouchers submitted, dollar for dollar, with donations toward the charity.

What are your business goals?

We would like to create more jobs in the community, create employment opportunities, utilize existing and work at other methods to help support the local economy. We will strive to keep bringing our clients the best of the latest the travel industry has to offer. We are actually in the process of working toward expanding. We are constantly working on improving our physical and online environments, becoming more high tech as needed, in order to better serve our clientele. Our plan is to create an even better agency.

How do you differentiate yourself from other agencies?

There are a few things we have created that set us apart: our door-to-door customer service, which is gaining in popularity and certainly saves our clients time, and money with today's gas prices. Our feature honeymoons, weddingmoons, and babymoons. Our high level of customer service, wide array of products offered at affordable prices, and ability to beat our competitors rates, including online giants. Unfortunately, it is a common misconception that online prices are lower. One of our ideas was to bust this myth.

And what's your background?

I've been in the travel industry since 1984. I also took a refresher course in 1998 for geography, travel and tourism. Most importantly, among other accreditations, I earned a gold seal on my travel-agent proficiency certificate, which were created to distinguish professional travel agents. I moved here from Florida in 1999. Then in 2000, I decided to embrace the possibilities the Internet has to offer by expanding our online presence. I am a self-educated Webmaster.
